COLLEGE

Seattle Pacific University. Emily loved her time here. You can still see her impact on campus, from starting Quest, the women's mission to San Francisco, or being one of the first members of Mosaic, the intercultural cadre at SPU. At the beginning, however, she was known quite simply as one of the prettiest girls in Hill Hall.

Freshman year she started a study group w/Lynn and a few others, including Gavin, to go over U-Scholars material. She became immediately known for her caring spirit and genuine thoughtfulness for everyone she ran into. Her sophomore year Emily became an SMC, led a Bible study for her floor, and was deeply involved with 4th Hill. Junior year she became a PA, and performed an absolutely amazing job. She became central in the lives of so many girls on her floor that year. Her heart was so large! She was also Homecoming Princess her junior year, which could not have happened to a more deserving individual.

That leads into her heart for those less fortunate. All four years of college Emily participated in Parent Trust, taking calls from people who had undergone domestic or child abuse, demonstrating a level of maturity unheard of in most freshman. She went on an urban plunge experience her sophomore year that opened her eyes to the needs of those without a place to call home.

Bekah came to SPU, and Emily and Bekah lived right above each other. At first they, like most siblings, were upset to be in the same dorm. However, this time allowed them to know each other as adults, and they became closer than ever, even though Emily would always steal Bekah's clothes and shoes.
