My Darling Emily

As your Dad and I were driving up to Seattle, I just didn't think I could make it. I opened my Bible and began to find comfort as I started reading in Ephesians, where I had left off just a few days ago before our lives so suddenly changed.

I read that long ago, even before God made the world, He loved you and chose you in Christ to be holy and blameless in his eyes. His unchanging plan has always been to adopt you into his own family by bringing you to himself through His Son, Jesus Christ. And this gave Him, and gives us, great pleasure.

I read that at the right time He will bring everything together under the authority of Christ-everything in heaven and earth. And now, Emily, because of Christ, you have received your inheritance from God, for He chose you from the beginning, and all things happened just as he decided long ago.

I read that God is so rich in mercy, and he loves you so very much, and now you are seated with him in the heavenly realms-- because you are one with Christ Jesus.

Emily, God knit you together in my womb. He saw you before you were born and every day of your life was recorded in His book. His workmanship was marvelous.

He created you anew in Christ Jesus. You are clothed in a beautiful white spotless gown. Honey, you are God's masterpiece.

You have finished the race and you have finished well!

I love you, my Darling Emily, and I look forward to the day I can hold you in my arms again.

Love
